I notice Her web site has been down for several days. I wonder if this might be good news in the form of a writing contract or? In any case Lawrie thanks for the resource and good luck.
Actually, Lawrie isn't a "her" he's a "he". But I'm guessing that the site being down isn't related to a book deal; Lawrie's interest has always been in getting the info out there, and I suspect that he wouldn't sign a book deal that would limit his ability to distribute the information online. Last I spoke with him, he was just really busy.
Ok, now I am thoroughly confused. I think of Lawrie as a male name because it reminds me of Lawrence. I remember an AED post I believe by Lawrie correcting someone on the matter and also a post by I believe by Kristin in the same direction. I browsed at AED and didn't find the original. I would like to know just so I do not make the same mistake again. Thanks.
Lawrie is most definitely a guy. I've spoken to him on the phone, and if he's a woman, he's got the deepest voice of any woman I've ever run into. Not to mention that he gave some interesting anecdotes about guys that email him looking for a date... to which he replies that his wife won't permit that.
Riiiiight. The next thing we’ll be hearing is that Gert isn’t short for Gertrude, and that he/she is a man as well. (It took a while, Gert, but I didn’t want you to think I forgot the picadore thing… )
My impression is that Gert is a "he" but I could be wrong. He/she may be a woman but he/she is definitely not androgynous
Actually, Lawrie isn't a "her" he's a "he". Woah! I did NOT know that. I even recall coming to a conclusion that HE was a she when I went on his website and saw a picture of a woman next to his name (I guess the picture was supposed to be a nontraditional student studying or something). BR, Bill PS: HE or SHE The BA in 4 weeks is still VERY informative!
Lawrie is a guy and on a post sometime ago on a.e.d. he referenced his wife which I believe is from the Coventry area in England (my recollection on the geography -- may be wrong on this.) John
