Onto game 3 tonight, with the Kings up 2-0. Any hockey fans out there? Any fans of either team? I'm not so much a hockey guy, but as the son of a (late) Rangers fan, I'm getting caught up in the fervor and rooting hard for NY
I apologize to all Rangers fans for being the bad luck charm. :icon16: Now they have to win four in a row. Which more than one. :dunce:
I'm actually hoping the Rangers will pull out at least one game. Man, the Kings looked good in that game last night though.
Exciting game tonight! My heart was racing the entire third period. Lundqvist was on point, probably the MVP, blocking no less than 40 shots and giving up only the one goal. The first time in the series that he outplayed Quick, who was a veritable brick wall the previous game. No sweep. Hope still alive. Only three games to go!
Keep hope alive! We have a semi-pro hockey team here that does pretty well. Great time going to games, still maintain that hockey in person is one of the best sporting events to see. Would love to see a Rangers game in NY. Wow, that would be sweet.
Game on! They just finished the national anthem. I'd never heard of Pia Toscano before, but omg I'm in love. PIC: http://www.sawfirst.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Pia-Toscano-1.jpg
Thanks for saving me from looking like a lunatic, talking all by myself in this lonely thread. Win or lose, the Rangers have kept this series exciting, and for that I'm thankful. I've almost had to restrain my hands to prevent chewing my nails clean off of my fingers. I've been thinking this past week, with all the excitement I've been experiencing watching this, that I might give regular season hockey a chance next year. I might have found yet another thing to rob me of time.
Well. That's that. Great showing from the Kings. They were clearly the better team from day one, but a superhuman performance by Lundqvist kept the Rangers alive for a very, very long time. Rooting for the Rangers, and feeling really bad for how much fatigue and pain the players were in, the prevailing thought in my mind when the final goal was scored was "after ALL of THAT?! " I'm about two hours late for bed. Good night :wavey:
The Los Angeles metro area has now won 3 Stanley Cups in the last 8 years (Ducks in 2007, Kings in 2012 and 2014). Meanwhile, no Canadian team has won a Stanley Cup in more than 20 years (not since the Canadiens in 1993). I like California sports as much as any Cali dude, but even so, something feels a little odd about this pattern.
What a game. Poor Maniac, took it all out of him. Lundqvist was the MVP in my books, amazing. But Quick is impressive too. I guess now I will catch some World Cup games. I'm coming around to soccer since my middle son likes the game.
Huh? What? I missed it? Again? That's 54 years straight! Oh, well. At least that frees me up to ignore soccer....
