I wonder what made him think that was such a great idea. Then I wonder at what point, as he was probably drifting in an out of consciousness, did it hit him that it wasn't. I'm glad he's ok, but man, what wanton stupidity in motion.
It's a miracle he is alive! I think the combination of 39 below zero and little oxygen may have saved his life as it caused his metabolism to come down. They have been able to resuscitate victims of drowning in cold water because of this phenomenon and they recover without brain damage. Should be a case study!
