Hello, I wondering if anyone has used a DETC course description for a TESC portfolio? Please let me know. Thanks. A peaceful weekend to all. Hille

    Can't be done.

TESC accepts course descriptions only from regionally accredited colleges and universities. This was an issue several years ago, when some people attempted to use course descriptions from AABC-accredited* colleges. TESC set a policy that they would not accept descriptions from any school that was not regionally accredited, even if the school was accredited by another association that was approved by both the U.S. Departmet of Education and what is now CHEA.

As a general rule, if a coure is offered by a DETC school, it will also be offered by an RA school - you just have to search harder. For vocational courses, try community or junior college catalogues.

Thanks for the quick reply. When my husband is done this current journey I'll share some of the frustrations of TESC. My current suggestion to all enrolled is document every e-mail and conversation. Have a great day. Hille

This is good advice, regardless of which college or university you attend. Be it DL or B&M - always keep a copy of what you mail, fax, hand in or email.

And, if you are doing a dissertation or thesis make sure you have at least 100 copies at different locations. A friend of mine had almost completed her dissertation for the DSN when her house burned........yep, one copy and it was gone. Fortunately, she had a list of her resources at her office but she did have to do all the typing again.
