School choir gives Miss SA a rousing send-off. Well, this is the Off-topic forum, right? Sometimes I wonder what my fellow DL students look like. Grotesquely ugly, for the most part, I am sure. But this one is different. This story about Miss South Africa, Vanessa Carreira, ends with the following statement: "The 22-year-old Carreira, who adopted the furtherance of education as one of her goals for the year of her reign, is herself a BA Communications student." This is not quite correct, since Ms. Carreira actually graduated from Unisa, with her BA in Communications, about a month ago. Her strategy for the "furtherance of education" is in part based on being a role model for distance education. So you see, even though I may appear to be ogling pictures of pretty women, in fact I am merely dedicated to pursuing all aspects of distance education whereever I can find them. Really!
