You need to be a pretty much hardcore Celtics/NBA fan to know who Bill Sharman is/was but he just died. He was, as a part of the Celtics, a 4 time winner of the NBA title, elected to the Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach (LA Lakers). I believe he still owns the NBA record for most consecutive free throws. Windhorse.
He seemed like an all-around nice guy. His '71 Lakers had the longest winning streak (33 games) of any pro team in any sport. He was also one of the few major league baseball players who never had a single at-bat.
