"This license continues even if you stop using our Services (for example, for a business listing you have added to Google Maps)." Meaning: You are granting Google and everyone they work with in any capacity a license to use your data in anyway they see fit. Even after you stop using Google. This includes: Your emails and attachments in Gmail Your documents uploaded in Google Drive (formerly Docs) Your phone calls, voicemails and texts in Google voice Your chats in Google Talk Your searches in Google Search I wonder how many people ever read the terms of service of any software product or website they use? My father has been in real estate for 40 years and said only 2 buyers in his career ever took the time to read the mortgage papers they were signing. I was one of the two!
Including you? One. I'd read a mortgage. Duh opworm: but not so much Gmail TOS. I know Google owns me, so I simply don't give it anything that I would be afraid to see posted next to my picture on a billboard.
I don't have Google Gmail, but Georgetown University gives email account to student for life. But is Google mail platform.
A few months back I migrated my personal email to my own domain and server; spam still comes into gmail... they can read along if they so desire... I am, however, moving all my email to another country. It's not that I have secrets, but I value my privacy more than the US / CDN gov't does. 1984....
I use it, but only as a way to register for some sites, and as a forwarding location. It is not my regular email.
I use Gmail and since i have been using it i cant think for any other mailing site plus it has it advantages of google+ and live video chat !!
