I'm just coming out of a news moratotium and so don't know, has this been a discussion point in the news recently. This just seems to be getting worse and I can't see that anyone is talking about it.

I usually only watch the NBC nightly news, and most of it has been about Syria and the forest fires. Having lived in Japan for 6 years, I still get email updates from newspapers in Japan. TEPCO just seems to be in a constant state of turmoil.

People may want to avoid seafood. Better safe than sorry, especially when those who should be in the know seem perfectly comfortable lying their asses off.

While any such spillage is certainly a concern, the full story is perhaps a bit less scary than the headline. According to the cited news article:

430 liters is about 114 gallons. That's about the equivalent of two 55-gallon drums (a 55-gallon drum actually holds about 57.5 gallons if you fill it all the way to the top).

Oh, OK, so it's only a little bit of poison. That makes it OK. And I'm sure it will never happen again because it's clear that they have this situation in complete control.

Raymond Burr sadly shakes his head.
