Did you see how the police chief said the victim made the situation worse by trying to defend himself. That's an embarrassment. The situation was made worse by allowing this kid's parents to breed in the first place.

    This is my hometown. Sad.

Now the one of the kids is saying that Shorty was selling crack.

The police in Spokane have a pretty bad reputation, and this does not help. The father of three white kids who were beat up at a local mall when some diverse "youths" went polar bear hunting has come forward. Seems the mall has video and eye witness that place one of Shorty's killers at the scene and participating in the beat down of these three white kids. SPD did not charge him with a crime.

Whatever you do....don't go and read these two "youths" Facebook pages. Nauseating.

    Anyway, here's the quote from the Police Chief;

‘Our information is that the individual fought back and that may have made this, you know, a worse situation,’ said Spokane Police Chief Frank Straub in a Monday press conference.

Straub was quick to maintain Belton’s innocence in the matter.

‘I'm not being critical of Mr. Belton,’ he clarified. ‘We certainly encourage individuals to fight back, and he should have. But it shouldn't have happened to begin with.’

What we need to do is abolish the juvenile justice system. The juvenile justice system teaches kids that there are no consequences for their actions.

Call me a sexist/ageist, but there is no way in the world I would walk around as a woman or a senior citizen without a concealed firearm. Hell, I a big tough guy and I was preparing to move from my state because they didn't allow concealed carry. Thankfully, they have rectified the situation (last state to do so) and I should have my permit sometime in the spring or summer of next year.

Regarding what the police chief may have said, In a way, I can understand it. At almost 90 years old and unarmed, there was VERY little chance that he would be able to overpower or even run away from a pair of physically fit teenagers. At that point, you just acknowledge that you are in checkmate and hand over the wallet.

Although I don't totally agree with this statement, I don't disagree with it either. The problem truly lies in several different factors; one being the lack of punishment for repeat juvenile offenders. Second lies in adults who take advantage of the fact that juvenile offenders get lighter sentences so they use them to commit crimes. However, neither of the above mentioned pertains to this case, so as a veteran, I say f#*k'em and I hope they burn in hell. :firedevil:

    Tragic indeed!

But, perhaps it isn't the fault of the two 16-year-olds. There could be mitigating factors involved:

    1. They could have grown up with no father.
    2. They could have been bored because the government didn't provide them a job or enough social programs to allow them enough money to buy more video games.
    3. It could be GWB's (or even worse, Cheney's) fault.
    4. The winds of Katrina could have blown all the way to Washington state and influenced them in a negative way.
    5. Perhaps they missed out on the free cell phone from the current administration.

    Who knows?

    Justice, however, should be swift.

I hope these "fatherless children" get tried as adults and I hope they get the death penalty.

If Obama addresses this it will surely be #3.
