I join you in relief that no one was hurt, and in great admiration and commendation for the woman who prevented a massacre and/or suicide. Awesome to hear! The comment I am compelled to make is unfortunately rather cynical. The title of this thread makes me sad. The "positive story" we are greeted with is not that a particularly good thing happened, but that a particularly bad thing did not happen. Is "good news" really nothing more than "not bad news"? I'm not even sure, at this point in my life, if I could appropriately react to nor even intelligently recognise a positive news story if I saw one because I would have very little else to compare it to in terms of my history of news readership.
