The dimension of time (so the great physicists say) was created by the Big Bang. This leads to some perplexing and paradoxical issues. Wondering what may have occurred before the Big Bang is entirely meaningless because there would be no time to which the relative position of "before" could be applied. The implication in my meager maniacal mind is that the origin of the universe could not have actually happened since the origin would require there to be existence beyond the universe itself within which the origin could occur and within such existence there would be no time within which the Big Bang itself could have occurred. :aargh4:

Am I just wasting my time by worrying about this? Of course not! I couldn't possibly waste time since the impossibility of the existence of the universe means that there is no time nor an I to waste it.

Yes- this is the kind of stuff I think about all day.

Which universe are you talking about? string theory suggests the possibility of eleven so, if you are going to walk on the wildside and ponder issues that will probably put you in the care of people with white coats, ponder the possibility of 11 universes in string theory.

The Multiverse Has 11 Dimensions | Michio Kaku | Big Think

Does that mean there are eleven of you thinking about it or not I have no idea, but, if there were, you could have an interesting conversation about it with the other ten. Now I have sprained my brain and I think I will have a nice little lay down with a cold compress.

What worries me is that there are people being seriously well paid to consider all this and they are not necessarily smoking cannabis, although it may help.

Have the superstring guys come up with anything testable yet?

Yes, you are wasting your time worrying about it. You can think about it and dissect it...come up with your own theories... but not worry about it. The concept of time is man made which allows everything else to fall into place and have an explanation - remove the concept of time and all falls apart.

Know that you exist and that you're here for a short term - rather than pondering how we came about, let's ponder how we can preserve the planet so it will be around for generations to come.

You're no fun. Besides, if there is no time, then what in the world is time dillation- a real, observable, measurable phenomenon? It's like saying "there are no bottles, but go ahead and fill them anyway." You can't fill nonexistent bottles nor dillate nonexistent time.

Dimmensions are not the same as universes. There are four observable dimmensions within our known universe and string theory proposes that there may be many more that are imperceptible.

High level (waaaaay above my head) mathematical models demonstrate that there may be many, many different ways that the strings may be structured- resulting in very different universes- but that any given universe would contain only one of them throughout. If string theory could be proven, it would raise the questions of how our universe came to have the particular strings we have, and whether there may be universes out there beyond our own to actually carry the different strings.

I like Super String. It sprays out of a can and gets all over you. Comes in nifty colors, too.

It is enough to put you into therapy! Does this mean that we are not alone? Should be we be working on interverse travel, not just space travel? Just think of the market potential! Forget going global, go multiverse! Distance learning could be taken to a whole new level or, perhaps, a multilevel.

It does give a better perspective on these people who throw bombs at others or engage in other acts of terror. They are ignorant and irrelevant as well as evil. I think that the existence of a multiverse would render it inconceivable that we are the only life force. Sooner or later, if the multiverse exists, something or somebody will reach through the ether and disclose their presence which will alter our perceptions of the relevancy of everything. Hopefully not in my time, there is only so much change I can take!!

If the universe is not subject to eternal expansion and so begins to collapse in on itself someday then this could be seen as a validation of the concept of reincarnation.

I'd see it as a sign that the Mayans (and many others) were right that existence is cyclical. If the bang-n-crunch model was accurate, there would be no telling just how many times humans came into existence to wonder what might have come before.

I look forward to the day when I can slip into the other dimension for a while and have a cheap holiday. I may need a interdimensional passport though. Perhaps I could move to a better dimension? Might be a way to escape the tax man or I could end paying twice as much tax? I wonder if you are married in all dimensions? what about your driver's license? You can get an international license what about an interdimensional one? What about immigration? Can I be Australian in this dimension and something else in the next? Could you have interdimensional discrimination instead or or as well as racial discrimination? Is there another dimension to being politically correct? The questions are endless!

What about shadow matter? Apparently, this is routinely accepted by physicists and constitutes a potential different world/ universe governed by different laws of physics.
Is dark matter hiding a 'mirror world'? Researchers believe mysterious material could form its own world - complete with shadow Milky Way | Mail Online

This is why I studied sociology and public administration instead physics. It is not only too hard but also too threatening!!! Fortunately, nature spared this dilemma by a deficit of neural networks that support theorizing in physics.
