This makes me wonder if we won't be seeing this type of attitude manifested in other parts of the world in the near future. I mean one of the common reasons for homeshooling children is to keep them protected from the potential physical dangers that may occur at a traditional school. (No, I am not interested in getting into a debate on homeshooling - which I think is an acceptable option).
But taking this logic further, if people begin to fear for their safety when they leave their own home, this might be an option for them.

I know these thoughts are not extremely well thought out, but are rather a reaction to the article listed above. However, it is an interesting question.
Who could have known that the events of the past few months could affect the DL world in this way??
    anyway, until next time.

One of the local stories post-9/11 was the number of Arab students who left Boston area schools after the WTC attack. IIRC, there were over 100 students that left Boston University alone.

The really sad & ironic thing is that the Arabs who might do us harm in the future almost certainly aren't enrolled in college, so those Arab students who did leave posed no threat to us whatsoever.
