All; Sometimes, when my husband watches television shows that are not of interest to me, I plug in the earphones, and listen to hymns: Jan Garbarek & The Hilliard Ensemble - Parce Mihi Domine (1)! - YouTube And Can It Be (Amazing Love) - YouTube What A Day That Will Be - YouTube *God on the Mountain* - Lynda Randle - YouTube "HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN" ~ JESSY DIXON & Gaither Homecoming Friends - YouTube Burdens Are Lifted At Calvary [Live] - YouTube
The classic...Amazing Grace....far and away my favorite. Lee Anne Rhymes didn't burst into flames when she covered it acapella...Leann Rimes - Amazing Grace - YouTube Beautiful rendition.
"Near to the Heart of God" is my favorite. I also like "How Great Thou Art" with Elvis doing a spectacular job with it. Elvis Presley - How Great Thou Art Live 1974 - YouTube
Wow, that's a beautifully done rendition. That reverb naturally occurring in that church sounds better than anything you can do electronically in a recording studio.
There's a few I liked from when I was a kid, although I don't remember the lyrics, so I don't know which one is which. There's one I liked the only words in it that I remember are "Allelulia, Allelulia!" I realize there's no point in asking, "Hey guys, what's that hymn that has 'Allelulia' in it?" I don't exactly have a recording studio, so forgive the quality of this, but I banged it out here: http://hiresteve.com/files/hymn.mp3 Anyone know what the name is?
A Mighty Fortress is Our God, no doubt. I think my choice is influenced by watching the old Davie and Goliath claymation cartoons as a kid. They used that as the theme song. _________________________________
