Hi, all. Has anyone here gone through the process of obtaining the certifications as mentioned in the title?

Excel - I am very handy with Excel and feel very comfortable using it to create works of spreadsheet art or works of spreadsheet monstrosity- depending on my purpose or mood. I just wonder how esoteric the exam is. Does someone who fluently creates functions and uses macros already have what it takes to pass the exam, or does he need to read pages of extraneous protocol to even have a chance?

QuickBooks ProAdvisor - This is the basic level of certification, but does basic mean simple? I've never used QuickBooks, although I dabble a bit in Quicken (similar?), so I'm not sure what I'm getting into. Is this the type of exam that a person with basic bookkeeping/accounting knowledge still needs to spend dozens of hours on, or is it likely that he can feel his through it within a few hours (just as I learned both Powerpoint and Excel, by flipping through functions and learning along the way)?

Also, are there any good books that I should look out for in the library or free ebooks or courses that are especially on-point and fluff-free? Especially, ones that don't assume that I've never turned on a computer and used a mouse before?

I have used Quickbooks for my business for as long as I can remember. It's not hard to use on the basic level but I'm sure the advanced areas of it will take some learning. I have heard that a person with a decent knowledge of accounting and a mastery of Quickbooks can often make pretty good money doing books and helping people track their small businesses.
