I propose Saturday, December 12 at 1pm at Mango Mike's in Alexandria. It's reasonably convenient to I-95, I-495, and I-395, and it offers reasonably diverse fare, so there should be something for just about everyone. Who's in?

Darn! If you're talking January, I'll actually be in Arlington that weekend, but I'll be chaperoning a Key Club function...

Oops. Yes, I meant Saturday, January 12th at 1pm. I guess if I write you a check you'd better ensure the year is right?

Matt, will you be entirely unavailable that weekend? Since you'll already have come the distance, if there's some reasonable time that works for you that would be awesome.

I might be able to make it out. Something in the District would be an easier commute for me but if it comes to fruition I'll try to make it work.

I'm sure I could work something out. If I can drop the kids off at the hotel around 12, there will be other advisors there with them. I could probably scoot away for a bit. I'll see what I can come up with.

I just wanted to remind everyone who said they were coming, and invite anyone who'd like to join us, that we'll be sighting up at 1pm this Saturday the 12th at Mango Mike's in Alexandria, Virginia. Here's a link to the location. See you there!

Just saw this! Wish we would have thought of this sooner when I actually lived in Baltimore, I would have come down to meet everyone. Shoot. Well, have fun I actually went to a meet with people from another forum. We all wore name tags with our screen names on them, it was actually kind of funny.

Me too! We tried to do one of these in the D.C. area a few years ago (Four or five, maybe, I don't remember) and it didn't spark. It will be interesting to put some real world faces to the names.

I think it would be neat but... we had a son born this last weekend and are in the NICU at UVA. :)

Whoa, graymatter, that's pretty heavy. Obviously anything requiring a NICU is serious, but hopefully it's something that's under control?

    @ SteveFoerster,

Are kids allowed to be at Mango Mike's?

Sure, kids are no problem. It's not all that different from a T.G.I. Friday or a Ruby Tuesday.

Wishing I could attend Steve; but thanks so much for the invite … very thoughtful! I lived in Fredericksburg while stationed at Quantico. Virginia is truly a beautiful and historic state. And my oldest daughter was even a University of Richmond … Spider or would that be a 'Spiderette'?

Fine. Thanks. Just waiting out some billirubin issues as he was born a month early. Hope to be discharged over the weekend.

My daughter had a case of that, but fairly mild. They sent us home with the biliblanket that surrounded her with reflective material and LEDs. I called her "Fiona of Borg".
