The General forum has, this morning, 24,496 threads and 249,052 posts.

What are the odds that thread number 25,000 will be post number 250,000?

And can you remind me what the prize is for the person who makes the quarter-millionth post?

The question is, how will we know who actually make the 25,000th post? Does DegreeInfo have access to see which number post belongs to which user?

While I trust Ted implicitly I need to remind our members that Mods have THE POWER and can control which posts show and which do not. Ted is as honest as the day is long but I, on the other hand, am completely willing to accept bribes.:saevilw:

Hmm ... With 24,496 threads and 249,052 posts, we need 504 more threads and 948 more posts. So if the next 504 threads have an average of about 2 posts apiece, we might make 25,000/250,000 at about the same time. No guess as to who will put us over those threshholds.

Ted: ... and a free Bears' Guide 17th edition . . . would really sweeten the deal.

John: You're on, Ted. As of this very day, Random House (which owns Ten Speed Press) expressed serious interest in a new edition.

So you are saying that Ted's honesty varies depending on his latitudinal position and the time of year it is? Hmm, sounds about right. :smirk:

Well, I wasn't exactly thinking of it that way but now that you mention it, you might not want to make any important deals with Ted on December 21st.

This thread is beginning to morph into the Ted Heiks Roast thread.
