I once worked with a Crown Prosecutor whose son continuously was in trouble with the law... assault causing bodily harm, etc. The Crown Prosecutor was a good guy, but his son got in with the wrong crowd and it's unfortunate that Jr. chose the difficult path of life.

Yeah, it happens. I have a close family member who is a higher up with the cops. His son got mixed up with the wrong crowd, and kept getting in trouble. However, when Jr. got in trouble, the cops would let him off the hook knowing he was the son of a higher up cop executive. This did not do Jr. any favors. He kept screwing up until the cops could no longer look the other way. Jr. now has a felony on his record, and is having trouble finding a job. Ay dios mio!!

There will be an interesting Pepperdine section in the posthumous edition of Bear's Guide, unrelated either to this current unfortunate incident or the time an earlier Pepperdine top executive had a problem when he hit people while driving drunk.
