This guy has to be the most awesomely corrupt cop I have ever heard about. Sure, there have been cops that have done MUCH MUCH worse, but how many got to keep their jobs even after all of the media attention? Reading how much of a corrupt screw up he is, while still getting to keep his job, I couldn't help help but laugh (and remind myself NEVER to step foot in Opa-Locka, FL). Maybe being from Chicago has given me the ability to see humor in corruption stories. After all, our two previous governors are BOTH serving prison sentences for corruption.
Its unfortunate, but every profession has their bad seeds and LE is no different. Situations like this are devastating to the good people who "job it" everyday and do the right thing. But so long as the job is performed by human beings you'll always have problems.
Yeah, so do I. But you have to admit that they ended the show well. I still remember when Vic confessed everything to the ICE agent, starting with murdering another police officer. The look on her face at the end of the confession was awesome. I still remember when she says to him "Do you have any idea what you've done to me?" and he responds "I've done worse." Fantastic television.
I think it's a good sign that the department wants him gone. You'd be amazed at how many police departments circle the wagons and protect "their own" when it comes to bad cops, even ones who kill people through negligence or otherwise. Fort Worth Police for example. That department should be working with either the Feds or the State or County DA's office to investigate this guy. The Feds could definitely hem him up on civil rights violations from the look of it.
