  4. Even better than having "the law" on your side.

The assailant was 47 years old. The victim was five years old. Bastard's marginally fortunate that someone with a Texas gent's morals was beating him down and actually thought about taking him to a hospital.

My approach would have been to call the cops and tell them outright that if they wanted him to be alive, they better get to my place before I got done with him.

Anyway, with stuff like this there's a common sense to Texas that I really admire.

My cousin once beat a man within an inch of his life after the guy showed his wang to my cousin's sister and her friend. It was a legendary beating that people still talk about all of these years later. The cops did nothing and my cousin was never charged. The family actually threw a celebration for him. The city see's him as a hero.

it's one of those rare times when you think: one the one hand it's wrong to take the law into your own hands but at the same time it feels like justice is served. it makes me think of that grisham movie "a time for killing."

It's hard to blame that father. I can't imagine finding someone in the act of molesting your little girl. We can all wonder what we would have done in that circumstance.
