I was at the gas station today pumping gas. I car pulls in and parks by the store (not getting gas). A young kid starts getting out of the car and falls right into the door and smacks his mouth/face hard right were the window goes in the door (window was down). If that had been me I would have lost some teeth as it was a hard hit. I start laughing my arse off because it was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. Of course he gives me a dirty look like I made him trip but I could just not stop laughing. I finish pumping gas and see the kid coming out of the store. Then it dawns on me. His pants were so low around his knees that I think they are what caused him to fall. Then I started laughing more thinking about how this young kid thinks he looks cool and he fell on his arse. Oh boy the things we all do when we are young.

So my advice to anyone wearing sagging pants ... safety first! :pat:

Yes, but when we have to witness the ridiculous style of dress where a guy wears his pants so low with his underwear completely showing, aren't we the one's experiencing misfortune just by simply being forced to see it?

I agree with that, I think it's really stupid. I think I remember seeing a segment of the TV show Cops where some kid was caught by the Police because his pants kept falling down and tripping him as he ran away. In that case it was quite funny.

Try being a high school teacher. That's ALL we see.

Sad part is, I've read that this style of wearing pants originated in jails where inmates would do this to signal to other inmates that they were available for sex. Something tells me if that were true, and teens today found out about it, it might help the problem...

Playing basketball in shorts that are wrapped around the knees. The struggle to enter and exit motor vehicles. Never having two hands free. Bowleggedness. Then there's this situation: Cop Grabs Guys ---- OOPS ! - YouTube

    It's a hard knock life.

I think that's an urban legend. I think the real story is that it did start in jail, but because inmates aren't allowed to have belts, string, rope, or anything they can use to harm themselves or others. They don't even get shoe strings for sneakers. Hence the sagging look and the sneakers with no laces look.
