I'm doing allright. (Wow, people remember me!) Thanks, that means a lot. With regards to the student loan I'm going to consolodate it. Because all of my loans are from one source I have to let THEM to it at the rate that THEY want. But, it will still help quite a bit. I think I can refi it out to 20 years. As my other debts drop off I'll pay it down early. (So I'm somewhat LESS stressed now.) I'll also postpone my doctorate for a while, perhaps do some adjunct teaching in the evening. That will help me gain some teaching experience and pay down the student loan. Thanks again! (I didn't disappear ... I'm just finishing up my last graduate class so it's been taking up quite a bit of time ... I'll be done one week from Wednesday. If all goes well I'll be graduating with a 4.0 average. ... which is something I once thought was impossible.)
Hey, do you suppose he dealt with one of those mail order Nam Pipatsattaya mills in South Dakota? It is good to hear that things are better in your life (and I'm glad Gert asked). Things can hardly be better than a 4.0. John Bear, whose middlest daughter still has some annoyance at the professor at San Francisco State who gave her an "A minus" resulting in her undergraduate grade point average being 3.96.
I'm ROFL over the South Dakota Nam Pipatsattaya mill comment! (Although under the new regime I don't think I'd dare joke about it on a Thai bulletin board as I doubt I'd get my Visa on my next visit.) <GRIN> Congrats to your daughter. I think it's MUCH harder to do a 4.0 (or anywhere close) on the undergrad level. (Mine was 3.48, and I'm still annoyed at not getting the extra .02 I needed to graduate with honors .... as if Regents actually DID honors.)
