That can't be correct. The news media, race pimps and even Abner have been telling us he had no visible injuries to his head. Are you sure that picture is not faked?

    Just a little sarcasm.

Dude, can we please put all of this in one thread. This is the third Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman thread. I know this is the "Off Topic" area, but come on. I cannot be the only one weary of hearing about this story. I was interested in the story at first, but now I just want to find some little corner of the internet where I don't have to see constant updates about some dude I don't know who shot some other dude I don't know in a city I'll probably never visit.

I think sometime a few weeks ago, we moved beyond people looking for "justice" to everyone wanting to prove that they were right. This is really starting to look like people are fans of rival sports teams, which is disgusting for both sides.

I live in Florida and have spent some time in Sanford and I don't care. Judge/jury will decide, something will happen, people will cry foul, others will claim victory, and we can move on. Don't get me wrong, it is shame what happened but that is true with any loss of life - not just this one.

That this case has been talked about and covered so much doesn't signify that people view it as more important than others. It would simply be, literally, impossible to go into all the details of every single tragedy that occurs every single day. I take the opposite opinion that you and mcjon take. I think it is a good thing that this one case has captured the collective attention of this country. It gives us a chance to talk about issues that exist every day and events which happen every day, but don't get talked about because they happen too often to concentrate on enough details of any one incident. It's very likely that none of the people reading this post have ever heard of my Dad, but the details of his murder are so mysterious and convoluted (not to mention tragic, painful, downright scary) that it could have become national news. It didn't, but someone else did. In essence, people talk about my father without even talking about my father. The same types of incident, the same types of people, the same issues.

I will agree that this situation isn't fair for all of the people involved- including Zimmerman who will not likely be able to receive a fair trial. Also, I can see how national attention can trivialize a matter. One particular media outlet, TheYoungTurks, instantly proclaimed George Zimmerman guilty of murder, have emphasized every single detail that makes him look like a bad guy, and minimized any information which may mitigate or exonerate. It goes to show just how desperate certain people are to be relevant.
