The simple answer is that Rick Santorum is a leading Republican candidate and he's gone on record saying that contraception is bad for our society. That an important part aspect of sex is procreation and to remove that from the equation damages society. The amazing thing about the story to me is that the congressional members seem to be supporting him by trying to position the Republican party as the anti-contraception party. It seems to me that the Republican party has recently gone into a dose dive in trying to rush to the right. I simply don't understand how intelligent men can decide to do such things?
Yes, it is mad dash to the extreme right. This will be the Reps downfall however. Santorum is on this faux contraception/cultural war. He is also on record stating the gay sex is like man on dog sex. So you get a guy like this in. Then what? The reps are also screwed with Romney. Why? He represents a 2012 modern day robber barron to a nation that has seen financial collapses.
