Check this story out. So a professor of Cal State San Berdoo (San Bernardino) gets busted for organizing a meth lab and being an outlaw biker gang leader? You think he was tenured? :D

And what's wrong with a math lab to help people with their math problems? Oh, wait a minute....

College professor, huh? Then he should be ashamed of himself for wearing mis-spelled biker colours. Look at the pic in the story - biker gear seized from his home. Devil's Diciples? You're telling me Satan doesn't know how to spell Disciples? Hah! :jester:

    Oops! "Diciples" is intentional spelling.

Sorry! The mis-spelling is intentional, apparently.
See the club's origin here: Devils Diciples - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Short quote: "The club originally had twelve members, and the word "disciples" was intentionally mis-spelled."
Shouldn't laugh at bikers! Naughty Johann! Just a minute -- bunch of guys in leather at my door... maybe it's the meth I ordered. :jester:

Still a fugitive. Phoned in a few days ago, the LA Times says, to find out what his bail would be if he gave himself up. His father is surprised: "My son is a Christian. He's a good father of a good little girl," the elder Kinzey said. "My son doesn't drink. My son doesn't smoke. I don't get it. He's a PhD." [From Toledo]

As of a few months ago, he was getting mostly excellent ratings on RateMy Professors: Stephen Kinzey - California State University San Bernardino - RateMyProfessors.com

You know Dr.Bear, I'd be surprised if you weren't in on it too. I mean, with all of your travels, your education, your unique and varied work experience, your published works, your stint on Jeopardy (I wish I could see a video of that!), raising a family, killing the shilling of milling, being an expert witness, having entire websites dedicated to libel against you and, most prestigiously, the fact that you are the current reigning quoted person in my signature- what HAVEN'T you done in your lifetime?

A lot of members of outlaw motorcycle gangs lead "normal" lives outside their criminal activity, and purposely will try to blend-in by wearing conservative clothes, being clean-cut/shaven, etc.

The Devil's Diciples are a well-known outlaw group, but you can tell an outlaw club by their "colors", which are the leather vests they wear while riding or at club meetings. If you look at the vests in the picture in the story, you can see the "F.T.W." patch on the back, which means "Fuck The World", which is a sure indicator of outlaws.

On the front of the vest is most likely a "1%" patch, and outlaws sometimes refer to themselves as "one percenters". This comes from the 1960's, when the President of the American Motorcycle Association was quoted as saying that 99% of motorcycle riders were law-abiding citizens.

Believe it or not I'm a member or a 3 piece patch club (what some people like to call outlaw clubs) but we are most certainly not outlaw. There is a lot of misunderstanding of the whole biker culture thing but understandably. You have law enforcement 3 piece patch clubs too, some of them good guys (like the Blue Knights) and some who are outright criminals (forgive me if I don't name names).

The FTW patch can actually be bought and worn on any set of colors though it is highly unusual for anyone to wear it as a back patch. You'll also see diamond 13 patches which could stand for almost anything but usually means that they are "drug friendly". Basically the things to look for like Bruce said are the diamond 1% patch or a state named on their bottom rocker (the lowest patch). It should be noted though that not all outlaws wear 1% patches or state rockers though.

Personally I think what generally happens is you have a few bad apples and suddenly everyone classifies a whole club as being a "gang" or outlaws...which if we did any other organziation that way you'd think politicians, cops, corporate executives, etc. were outlaws too. Anyone who uses their organization or authority derived of their organization as a means to commit crime. I wonder if this guy was truly involved or just associated with the wrong crowd?
