Yes. She is causing the High pressure over us in Texas to get even HOTTER. We are at 105 in Houston and will get to 107 today and tomorrow.

It's raining pretty badly here in Lancaster, Virginia. The wind is starting to pick up too... and we've got several hours to go before the brunt of the storm hits.

I'm in the direct path of the storm but I'm not sure I'd use the term "suffering." I'm sitting in my living room watching the Patriots. Unfortunately, they're looking pretty bad right now. In a minute I'm going to change channels and watch "The Chronicles of Riddick." If the power stays on it'll just be another rainy day tomorrow. No worries.

Cable out but still have electric. Everyrthing ok. No worries.

The evil meterologists of the Boston area have gotten me so paranoid with their predictions of The Hurricane Apocalypse (even though I should know better, given their usual, overblown, hysterical, Chicken Little routines when it's going to snow in New England in January) that I've decided to take the night shift, and watch what's going on until my wife relieves me in the morning.

I woke up this morning to find that it wasn't that bad. We have sticks all over our yard, and the neighbor has a tree down, but we never lost power. My mom, sister & brother, who live about 6 miles away, don't have power and they have trees down too. We have some roads blocked and some flooding, but all in all it wasn't nearly as bad as Isabel was 8 years ago.

I didn't lose power or Internet. Therefore, all is well. :)

There are intermittent power outages in my residence that occur for very brief periods. Other than that, nothing serious thus far. Hope everyone is staying safe and enjoying a hot cup of chocolate milk.

I know this is about an hour away from you, but have you heard anything about how it is affecting plane travel? I will be going to Nashua New Hampshire in about a week and a half.

****Correction, I will be landing in Boston, MA then driving to New Hampshire.********

    Thanks,

    Abner

You'll have no problem at all, the wind has now died down, and I'm actually planning on taking my kids to the beach later today.....projected temp of 81 degrees and HUGE post-hurricane waves!

Glad you are OK. No worries? Good grief did you see what the Lions did to your O-Line? I know it's preseason, but here's to hoping the Pats take this loss to heart and come out swinging when the season starts. The Lions? Good grief.

There's still no power in 90% of my town but there have been no injuries. Hopefully the electricity is restored before I have to start throwing out food. I could only watch the first quarter of the Patriots game and I have to say that they looked terrible. Can I get away with simply saying, "Hey, it's just a preseason game?" They play the Giants in the last preseason game and I hope they show some substantial improvement.

Final post-Irene report; I never lost power (although the next street over is still without), and the casualty count is a half-dozen tree branches, my gas grill cover, and half of a 30-pack of Miller Lite (consumed, not destroyed).
