It took until 2002 for them to induct Jigoro Kano into the Hall of Fame? He should have been in the inaugural class. At least ahead of Chuck Norris and Cynthia Rothrock (WTF!?).

Abner. You live near this place? Have you been?

I live about 2 hours from there. I plan to go one of these days.

Some of these nominations are based on popularity and whether someone is a screen actor. I really don't care if a martial artist has been in a movie or not, the nominations should be based on merit without regard to who starred in what film.

My friend GM Eric Lee is on the Black Belt Magazine Hall of Fame Board, and he nominated a little known Grandmaster. Eric, myself, Sifu Douglas Wong (White Lotus System) and several others agreed this man should be nominated. So Eric Lee nominated him, but he was not popular enough!!!! What the !!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I get the whole popularity thing I suppose (Sylvelster Stallone into the Boxing Hall of Fame for Rocky), just remarking that people who essentially invent a new MA should be at the top of the list. Obviously I'm partial to Judo ;) Take come pics when you go, I'd be interested to see what it looks like.
