After completing my Associates degree I have moved back to Houston, started my own company, and decided to do something I have always wanted to do…learn Spanish. I have to say that I feel much more confident in life. As a former high school dropout (only did one year in high school) going back to school was the best thing I ever did! What has it done for you?

I feel like a ITT commercial posting this btw.

It was a springboard into finishing a bachelor's degree and beyond for the wife and me.

I did two semesters as a fulltime, in-residence student in 93-94. I joined the Air Force in 1994 and spent the next seven years chipping away at an A.A.S. Once it was done in 2001, I realized how close I was to completing a B.S. and knocked it out over a 19 month span with a grad date in 2003. That prompted the wife to go back to school and finish up an A.A., B.A., and M.S. which has led to a good career for her.

Nothing small about achieving ANY degree. It does sound like it boosted your confidence level, thus making it one hell of a good investment. Keep up the good work.

When I first completed my AA degree, it allowed me to enter the elite Insurance Adjuster training program at Metropolitan Life. I started making more money after I had that OJT training under my belt. And I did it all "pay as you go" style. That's how I like to roll.

Once you are satisfied with your knowledge of Spanish, keep working on your BS degree. I agree with Dr. Lady on this.

    Have a good one!

My A.A. Degree didn't give me much momentum per say, but it did boost my confidence being that I was a high school drop out as well, and finishing my degree was a cool feeling. Plus with one degree behind me, getting my B.S. didn't seem like such a surmountable task.
