Ahhh...remember, though, it ain't over 'till the fat lady sings, which won't be until the end of the series.
I'm still marveling that Vancouver has made it this far. That Boston is whacking them is the dog-bites-man story. Phillip
No but I did watch Texas A&M crush Florida State 11-2 along with Texas eliminating Arizona State ... two Texas teams advancing to the College World Series-Omaha. 2011 College World Series lineup: Texas A&M Texas Florida North Carolina South Carolina Virginia Vanderbilt California
Well, so far in the series, the wins have come on home ice. Guess we know what that means for game 7, eh? :cool2:
One of the Sedin twins has guaranteed a Canucks victory for Game 7. He should have checked with Roberto Luongo to see how it worked out for him when he shot his mouth off before Game 6.
In Boston there has been a tremendous amount of excitement building as the Bruins have moved through the playoffs. A huge number of people have jumped on the bandwagon, including me. I think I can honestly say that prior to this playoff series I have never watched an entire hockey game in my life. My knowledge of the game is mostly limited to the ways in which it resembles soccer. There are still rules I don't know, etc. When it comes to the Bruins I am a total pink hat. It's a great excuse to get together with a few friends and make some noise. Based on what I know (because like all good pink hats, I am now an instant expert) I would say that under ordinary circumstances Vancouver would have the advantage tonight but it appears that they will be struggling with a lot of injured or banged up players. Based on overall health and superior goaltending I'm giving the edge to Boston. In any case it will be great entertainment.
Yes - Boston has definitely done a number on quite a few of 'our' players. Time will tell....and I hate this knot in my stomach! (I am not a bona fide hockey nut....just patriotic....)
The best part of this whole thing was listening to the drunk idiots outside my apartment in Beacon Hill chanting "USA, USA..." after the game. Quick check of the roster shows that the Canucks have more US players than the Bruins, the Bruins have more Canadian players than the Canucks.
Yeah, but they're probably going to ask for political asylum here after seeing their countrymen overturning and igniting cars back home. -=Steve=-
I tried to explain to my kids (born in 2001) today how incredible it is that they've seen the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins all win a championship in their lifetime, but I don't think they quite understood the significance.
I know what you mean. My kids can't wrap their brains around me saying, "When I was your age, I went to the victory parade when the Washington Redskins won the Superbowl!" -=Steve=-
