I was trying to think of something earth shattering as my 5,000th post but I’ve got nothing except – I have spent a heck of a lot of time here asking questions, giving advice (good and bad), explaining my choices, etc.

I want to thank everyone for their feedback, suggestions, guidance, and hmm…intervention. Because of the interaction on this forum, I developed the courage and drive to complete my BS, MS, and PhD. Also, because of the contacts on this forum, I have gotten all of my adjunct work. Two schools to target based on suggestions from Bruce and two based on direct contact with people here.

I guess I do have something earth shattering to say – because of what I learned here my life is completely different. Thanks everyone.

Oh joy... another person who thinks a piercing will make them look better. It will only make you a terrible person--and what good would it do you? You would pay to have the piercing.

Randell, you've been a very valuable member of this forum since Day One, even before you had a momentary lapse of sanity and fell for my smooth pitch to become a Moderator. :silly:

I remember the smooth pitch like it was just 4,000 posts ago. It went something like, "...how would you like to a job with little recognition and no pay?"

Great memory....I was recently cleaning out my PM's and came across the message I sent you, and that's about the exact wording!
