This week's paranormal.about.com includes a "Whatsit" photo taken from Steiger and Steiger's The Rainbow Conspiracy, a UFO book; if I understand correctly, the "Whatsit" is supposed to be, or potentially be, some sort of alien artifact. The script is described as having characters that appear "similar to characters in Hebrew, Arabic, and Sanskrit," but speaking as someone who can partially read all three scripts, this looks like plain old fashioned Arabic to me. Unfortunately, my Arabic comes from the first half of a freshman correspondence course from the University of Wisconsin, so I've forgotten what little I know (except that the "9" character looks, to me, like the standard Arabic sentence break). Can someone who reads Arabic a bit more fluently take a crack at translating this--ahem--alien script?

Hello, I recently subbed in an ESL class with students from 10 countries. The internet had an option on all their languages including translation. This program is probably available free through your local library or community college library. Hope this helps. Hille
