I know this is kind of off-topic but considering most of you have much more experience than me, I figured I'd ask! I got a position as an executive assistant to the president of retail banking firm (while I'm still doing my BS in Finance). I def want to pursue managerial roles after my MBA (pref in operations or corporate finance). But where do executive assistants usually go from here...? Need some ideas on what to do next to achieve my goal.... Thanks!
If the president will mentor you and be an advocate for you that would be the best of all worlds in this situation. Otherwise seek out a management training program, either within this company or another, so you can become management.
Depends a lot on the exec, but many times the title Executive Assistant is pronounced more like a small borrowing rodent.
