A United Airlines Captain and university researcher, with a claimed MD and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin and a career as a consulting cardiologist, who shared in millions of dollars in grants over 18 years, turns out to have neither degree. AP EXCLUSIVE: Pilot duped AMA with fake M.D. claim - Yahoo! News The American Medical Association's initial response was so typical of the way many people deal with such revelations: In the materials for a cardiology training session this guy was scheduled to lead, they did nothing but change his bio from "Dr. Hamman" to "Captain Hamman." But higher-ups at AMA overruled, and the session was cancelled.
This reminds me of the old guy poising as a Marine Corp General (4 Star) traveling the country giving motivational speeches which cited all of his combat experience. Then it was discovered that although he was a Marine, he was an enlisted Lance Corporal during peace time who was dishonorably discharged after a 4 year enlistment if memory serves me correctly. Either case, you would think these guys would lay low instead of seeking the spotlight knowing their degree's are BS.
