I recently switched from Office 2003 to Office 2010 because the 2010 claimed to have a superior equation writing feature (I find it only slightly easier).
What a difference in the two versions.
It is taking me 2 to 3 times as long to write reports but I expect to get expert at using it as time goes by.
My lesson learned is never switch programs during a project.

I no longer have Microsoft Office installed on any computer I own. There's really no need to anymore. Open Office has matured to the point that it does pretty much everything the bloated (and over-priced) Microsoft product does....and does it for free. Oh, and you can even save your files in Microsoft formats using Open Office so your files can be opened and modified by either product.

I've been using OO for quite a while and much prefer it over M$'s office suite as well... one has to love the opensource community for producing fantastic products available for free or a donation to keep it going :)
