This is going to sound so silly, but I'm going out of my mind :aargh4: and you guys know everything. :grouphug:

I have a new laptop, and if I press the backspace key for more than a millisecond, it acts as a back-browser button and takes me out of the page!!!!! You have no ideas how many times I'm typing something, I backspace a word, and my work is gone only to land on a previous web page. This is driving me so freakin nutty and I don't know what to do about it!? So, does anyone know if there are keyboard preferences that I can change to stop this from happening?

A less annoying, but still annoying problem, is that while I'm typing (like now) I'm on this line, however I have my mouse pointer elsewhere. Magically, my text auto-inserts to wherever my mouse happens to be on the screen at the moment, or if I hold down the shift key to make a capital letter, it auto deletes the whole last line. Arghhh. This is driving me crazy!?! There has to be a way to change this stuff, right? I want a REGULAR functioning keyboard!!

Many laptops (such as mine) have the keyboard above the track pad, and if yours is the same, what could be happening is that you are brushing the track pad or some of the extra sensitive areas around it (mine has a slide function on the right, a monitor adjustment to the top, and left and right buttons on the bottom).

If this is like yours, try an external keyboard (wireless or wired) or being very carefull where you rest your hands. Alternatively you can change the sensitivity of the track pad. If you are using a Windows variant (Xp, Vista, 7) go to Control Panel under the start listing to Keyboard and /or mouse and adjust the settings.
