No matter how I try, I cannot fit a quote in my sig line without it looking really bad. Is there any way to increase the characters allowed in the future?

    Thanks,

    Abner :)

So, having your picture on the home page of Aspen University's website isn't enough, you want a giant signature as well? What next? Formatting in your signature? Images in your signature? :moon:

Anyway, to answer your question, there is a hard character limit to how long your signature can be. Only one person (you know who) can change it, and he has described the process as being a rather time consuming update. Although, he did at one point say that he would make it happen, at the moment we are just in wait.

ima get to it. I promise. Just gotta do it in a way that we won't suddenly be deluged with signature spam. There's a plan to do it but as MC said, it's sorta complicated and involves creating a new user group and moving all current users into that group... so when i get done with some other stuff that right now is a little higer priority... it's pretty high up on the next stage of things to upgrade :)

And then, we can also increase the time that users have to edit their posts. Its very annoying that a lot of us write stuff, and then need to make corrections but without success due to the time limit (which looks like 5 minutes only or so). Inability to make corrections to sentences or typos leaves a feeling that alot of us dislike. A forum that promotes education should also make it easy for participants to express themselves professionally without a 5-minute limitation due to restrictive user/forum settings. Like I said, I'm sure many other users would support this. Thanks for your hard work.

It's currently set to 10 minutes, which ought to be enough to read and make any necessary corrections to posts. Unfortunately, due to spammers, we really can't make it much longer than that, or the spammers make a post (which evades moderation) then come back and add their spam later on. Even with the 10 minute limit, this still happens occasionally. But if you really think increasing it to 15 or something would make a huge difference, I'd be willing to try that.
