Recent threads have me working on my resume and I have a couple of questions for you guys since I can't seem to find a standard. My goal is to leave Government service and move in to industry in the next couple of years and I am working on formatting and plugging holes for the commercial sector.

1.When listing an industry certification, is a location necessary? If so, what location do you put? Currently I put the location where I took the exams. Would the location of the governing/issuing entity be more appropriate?

2.When listing education, dates on or off? I've seen several resume recommendations that state to only include the last 10 years of experience to leave dates off education so as to avoid age bias. Thoughts?

    3. If the dates should stay is it acceptable to complete a second bachelors after a Masters?

I always use a fiunctional resume:

    Sections are:
    (1) Objective
    (2) Experience
    (3) Employment history
    (4) Education
At the end of my degree listing I write "Numerous other university and company courses."
    (5) Other information (professional memberships, national committees, security clearance, and if it is for a job in the EU I write "Authorized to work in the EU." I also include the line "Authored or co-authored several technical papers."
If I had pertinent certifications I might add a new section after (4) or include under (5).

I keepmy resume to two pages max and nicely proportioned.

I agree with what Ian has written. With that being said, I have several versions of my resume. Each one has a slightly different emphasis geared toward a specific type of employment.
