After 23 months of searching, interviewing, waiting, and a lot of non-responses, I finally was offered a job today, which I accepted on the spot. Whew!! I would never wish what I went through over the nearly past two years on anyone, ever!!
Only in the sense that the requirements were for a bachelor's degree with a preference for an MBA. I told them that my MBA would be finished in early December and that was good enough for them. I told them that Ashford was a small university just outside of the Quad Cities, followed up by "Go Saints"!! They did not ask anything further about it after that and were more interested in my background and technical knowledge for the position.
I will be starting up and managing an in-house copy/print/mailing division for IKON at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. My entire background has been in printing, with the last twelve years at a mid-level managerial position. The news gets better. Today, we hired two supervisors who will report directly to me. Both of them had also been unemployed for some time. One for 11 months and the other for five months. So, in one quick swoop, three unemployed people are back in the ranks of the employed.
