The wife and I went on a trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands last month. The resort we stayed at had a single dial-up computer in the lobby for the guests to use. It also sat in a dead zone for cell reception. Eight days of being unplugged from the electronics was awesome.
Wow! I am flattered that this all went on in my absence. If it wasn't obvious already, I am back (have been for about two weeks now). Prior to that, I did find my way to the internet a few times, so I made a couple of surprise visits. So where did I go? I took a trip to Asia. B4 asked about internet connectivity. Let me tell you, America has NOTHING on Asia, not even the countries that you think are the remotest of remote. I am talking about Deaf people having conversations in sign language on their cell phones. It's unreal. The closest the USA has ever gotten to that was from a little company called ViableVRS that made devices that were somewhat portable, but that idea tanked when the Feds raided their offices and took them out. As for me, however, I was a visitor, so I did not have my own internet connection while I was there. I was able to bite off of others, and went to an internet cafe a few times. Overall, a great trip. Unbelievable, even. If you ever, ever, ever have a chance in your life to try seafood padprik, DO IT, DO IT, DO IT, and thank me later!
