This is not a credit-earning, degree-granting university, the kind of which are regulated by state and federal law. This is more of a forum for the same old wing-nut demagoguery and pabulum-spewing one hears ad nauseam on Faux News. Most states do not regulate the use of the word “university,” however, New York is a notable exception as they forced Donald Trump stop using the term “university” in some sort of wealth-building training seminar he was promoting

    Hey MC,

Please feel free to delete this thread. I posted in a rush (I'm at work), and didn't read it closely. Just thought it would be worth a discussion. I did not mean to start a flame war.

    My apologies.

I apologize for my comment, but this board is for discussing distance education, not vocalizing your political views. I would have said the same if a liberal leaning personality started a similar program and a right-wing forum member made some sophomoric statements and dragged a news media outlet into the discussion. Seemed a bit immature.

Since its not a real school, and this discussion will likely be more about the "Glenn Beck" part than the "University" part, it belongs in the off-topic section. Have fun!

Remember, however, Big Moderator is watching you

I have to say the guy is very good at monetizing his brand. Books, Radio, TV, Internet, Social Media, and possibly mobile technology like the iphone. He could offer legitimate ace approved business courses, like straighterline.com, and make a decent profit.

That's how he makes money. Selling paranoia and fear. His ratings are dropping but it remains to be seen how low they will go.

Glenn beck is popular because entertainment garners more viewers than news :)

That said, I frequently listen to his show (radio), agree over 50% of the time (barley, and minus the unnecessarily inflammatory rhetoric), but think he is a loony (or a marketing genius with no morals) nonetheless. He's such an ass though, I can't take more than 15 minutes.

    An Ungreat Man Once Said

For all of the antics that we see from Glenn, I'm prone to think that Keith Olberman isn't too far behind him in terms of insanity, even if somewhat more reserved. When Olberman gets into one of his "the Republicans spilled my milk" rants, you can literally see his saliva foaming and being sprayed all over his desk as he speaks.

Wingnuts, of any persuasion, are equally entertaining and terrifying.

For anyone who wishes there really were a Glenn Beck University, and that it offered online programs, there's always Yorktown University.

B4: If I'm anything I'm actually libertarian, about as far right as they come. My divergence on issues like immigration and certain moral controls where republicans actually come down on the left are confusing to people. It's hard for people to get, but republicans are not actually truly conservative on some issues, they are actually quite authoritarian (we owe our suspiciously high incarceration rate to them, for example).
