I sure would be nice if we could edit our posts! It is aggravating to see a glaring typo that the writer can't correct after he's posted it!

One shot and that's it baby!

    Can this change?

    Perfect example right here:

"I sure would be nice if we could edit our posts!"

    vs.

"It sure would be nice if we could edit our posts!"

It was a conscious decision of the administrators and moderators to not make that feature available for now. Due to the shenanigans on a.e.d., we decided that keeping the integrity of the posts was more important. Of course, nothing is written in stone, and things may change with the next upgrade.

If it's any consolation, editing is such a pain in the neck that I usually let my own typos stand, even though I can edit as an Administrator.

  7. One thing you can do yourself is to open up a text editor or word processor in another window, and use that to thoughtfully compose your message. Look it over to your heart's content, spellcheck, and then copy it and paste it into your message on degreeinfo.com

It is frustrating to look back on a message and have a typo pop out at you. However, there are benefits to not allowing editing. I've seen some messages on my board edited four or five times by the posters, or deleted a few days after having been posted -- hard to hold people accountable for their own words when that can be done. Most would use an editing feature responsibly, but some would get up to shenanigans.

Some of the other forums I frequent have the ability to allow editing for a limited amount of time, say, an hour. That way you can fix any errors, or even change your mind, for a limited amount of time, and then it is set in stone for all eternity.

I dont know if you can do that with this particular flavor of infopop, but I know that some B board software can.

    Hi, there!

Also, some boards allow for previewing messages before actual posting. Believe me, even though this is not editing per se, previewing messages gives room for a great deal of correction. I have detected more than a few mistakes of mine after previewing messages at other boards. Thus, my question is, is it possible to have this tool on this board?

    Best wishes to all,
