    Howdy!

Anyone know of a good university or community college that's itching for adjunct professors/instructors, particularly in the fields of philosophy and religious studies?

(Bearing in mind that I've only got a masters, and I'm not even a Ph.D. student yet, so upper-level and graduate-level stuff would probably not be an option.)

    Thanks for any leads!

    Peace,

Hi Tom, why don't you try the Open University of British Columbia or Athabasca University? Both are well-regarded institutions in Canada and offer courses of your interests.

My course tutors at Athabasca aren't PhD either, but they seem to be doing quite well with their Masters. I believe only Course Directors (those who design course materials) need the PhD degree.

    Good luck.

    Tom,

Remember that you will need to deal with Canadian immigration issues.

The school should withhold a certain percentage of renumeration to remit to the Canadian gov which you can then take a credit for on your US return.

    Willy --

Thank you, sir! I hadn't even thought of that, but in all honesty, this makes a great deal of sense. And these days, long distance to Canada costs me the same as long distance to Tennessee, so I may as well go whole hog.

Ken -- Thanks for the note on the tax issue. That, in itself, could be a happy thing.

    Cheers,

    Hey, Br. Tom!

First of all, I wish you good luck in your endeavors.

It might be useful for you to know that now it is possible to have completely free calls to Canada, UK, Australia, etc., etc., via Web-based dialers.

    I hope this helps.

    Take care,
