Well dude, if he becomes a mod then my relative power becomes even more relative.

Besides, the man has a Ph.D, and works for the department of homeland security. I have to have SOMETHING on him.

I say we make MC the "chief" moderator!

That’s a bad idea. I think you get to carry a gun when Chip gives you that title, maybe even a badge.

I think Rich is probably quite aware that being a mod would not be his calling. He is much more valuable to degreeinfo as a regular contributor and a storehouse of an incredible amount of knowledge and history about distance education.

I don't plan on adding any new moderators in the near future.

Jokes aside, he is one of my favorite members. I make sure to read all of his posts that I come across.
That's just hilarious. I wonder what interesting open polls still exist on this board from 2007. Maybe Rich will become a moderator before this one closes? :)

I voted "no" and am disappointed that the "yes" vote still leads. Thanks, but no thanks. And I have never, EVER, considered that role.

I voted no just to help you out and tie the score Rich.

Moderating is a lot of work. I've worked as an administrator and as a moderator at a couple of websites and it's incredibly time-consuming. I frankly don't have time time, but still enjoy reading and posting occasionally at various websites.

Yes it is a ton of work, if you can believe it I was a mod and founding member for a website that was purchased by monster.com. After a few weeks they fired me, they claimed I was "counterproductive to their goals." We had 1,000's of posts a day and it was a ton of work.

I was the first no vote. I knew if nominated you wouldn't run and if elected you wouldn't serve. ;)

Why do you not want to be a mod? Just curious.

I think this topic has been discussed enough. Rich has stated his views and the staff has weighed in. Time to close it :)
