Below is a link to the most beautiful speech I ever heard in my life. The little girl that gave the speech, Rachel Corrie, was murdered in cold blood while she was helping hungry children.

We must all support of the ship named for her, the S.S. Rachel Corrie and its humanitarian mission.

As cold as this sounds, I don't care about people who stand in front of bulldozers and while they are driving over them make no effort to move out of the way. Americans feel they need to worry about other countries to much. She could have been helping the poor in East Texas. I can take her to homes with no power or water, communities were people don't were shoes. This speech is scripted by adults (her parents) and she was raised in the crazy mind set she was stronger than a DC9 Dozer. Jews and Muslims will fight, it will never stop. Let’s face the facts; the land legaly belongs to Israel. What would America do if Canada felt they should have New York just because it uses to belong to them?

Yes, she was such a good American. I love how she rips apart a picture of a drawn American flag. I wish it was my kids around her!

She was so Peaceful the day before she got ran over by a dozer...now I'm sad!

I don't really watch the whole Israel/Palestine thing very closely, but there's one thing I've always wondered. In the 1967 war Israel won the West Bank from Jordan and the Gaza Strip from Egypt, right? And since then they seem to get along passably well with both Jordan and Egypt, right? So why didn't they just return those territories to the countries from which they got them rather than have all this controversy about them becoming their own country?

This is an unfortunate thread that should never have been started.

You sir are correct. It did not even belong to them; the disputed lands belonged to Jordan and Egypt. The reason there is so much unrest is it is a major trade zone. It is the Palestinians claim to fame, without the dispute there would be no lime light, and there would be no aid money. Most of their money flows from workers in these zones. They hold no legal claim to these zones but if you watched the news you would think that Israel ripped the land away from them unjustly.

Am I allowed to put the Anne Frank Diaries to the same level of scrutiny as you put Rachel Corrie?

The ship the Rachel Corrie is the one of the top stories in the news this week, but you do not want it discussed? The implication of your post is that we should not discuss the murder of a girl because it makes you uncomfortable for some reason. I guess you would rather her murder be swept under the rug.

I would love you to; I don't see the correlation at all other than they're both female and dead. One didn't get out of the way of a bulldozer, and the other was killed in a systematic extermination system. One left a comfy U.S. suburban life to protest an occupation, the other was just trying to exist. Please expand on your scrutiny.

Why do you only care about some American white girl? What about the Palestinians who have been murdered over the years? What about the Israeli's who have been rocketed or blown up by suicide bombers? At least Rachel Corrie chose her fate; the terrorist leaders of the Palestinians and Isreali's choose their peoples fate for them leaving them all prisoner to the violence. It's a damn shame, but I don't feel much pity for someone like Rachel Corrie. She would have done a lot more helping to feed the hungry or heal the wounded/sick rather than holding signs and shouting hate speech. Now she's just a propaganda tool. What a waste...

Well for that matter why doesn't the US return California to Spain and Texas to Mexico, lands that they usurped from these countries? Let us take it further. Why not give back the lands that originally belonged to the American Indians but were systematically stolen from them? BTW, Russian usurped three Islands from Japan during World War two and still have not returned them to the Japanese, sixty five years after the war ended!

Lets fact it. You can't buy love from a woman who is not in love with diamonds or true peace by returning lands that were won in war to one's enemies. In spite of giving back lands to Egypt the peace agreement between Israel and that country remains tenuous and if the moment was ripe and Israel was significantly weakened, Egyptian forces would join with other Arab forces in an attempt to wipe Israel off the map.

Let's get this straight. You show a picture of her with an assault rifle and note "She was so PEACEFUL the day before she got ran over by a dozer..now I'm sad"?

My friend, if posing with an assault rifle is any indication of her level of peacefulness and love of mankind than I would hate to see her when she was feeling upset!

Excellent questions and on target conclusions.

Whenever ANYONE joins a revolutionary movement and enters a war zone or an area that is ripe for violence, especially in a foreign land, they are putting their lives in jeopardy. In the case of Ms. Corrie she is absolutely not a martyr but a person who held hateful ideology which she frequently exhibited, inciting others to commit acts of terror and violence. In short, she contributed to the circumstances leading to her death and it is obvious that she was not an innocent, passive and peaceful observer of events around her but one who roiled others thereby endangering their lives as well.

What one needs to ask themselves prior to raising such questions as the one above is if ANNE FRANK was their sister or daughter, an innocent and harmless individual who happened to be Jewish, would they accept any comparison with the manner in which she was systematically annihilated in a gas chamber with the death of Rachel Corrie, an inciter of violence who voluntarily entered a foreign war zone knowing the potential risks and consequences of doing so?

I assure you that IF ANNE FRANK was YOUR sister or daughter that you would perceive any comparison with her horrific and unfortunate plight with that of Corrie as being completely out-of-touch. In fact it is.

The difference is most people in California and Texas want to be part of America. Most Palestinians want to be independent of Israel and voted to be so.

You also are spreading some inaccurate information. Texas was an independent country for many years. It was none of Mexico's business that a sovereign nation wanted to join with the United States. After Texas joined the United States Mexico declared war and invaded the US.

Your information about California is also inaccurate. Before the annexation California was part of Mexico and Russia, not Spain. Spanish control ended many years earlier. Russia abandoned California before Mexico gave up because they knew they did not have enough troops to defend their settlements.

    Russian settlement in Northern California.

I was talking about the published diaries, not Anne Frank herself. The diaries were so bowdlerized that it would be more accurately described as the work of the editors and not her. Entire sections were added, deleted, and changed in the various editions. The excuse by the publisher is that the original diary is not readable as literature. Considering the diary was not meant to be literature, just random thoughts and imaginations, this is not surprising.

Everyone born in California and Texas are allowed to vote in American elections. Palestinians are denied the vote in Israeli elections.
