Overall, it is a very disappointing story. It seems both sides are more interested in using the education system to influence the political viewpoints of children. In the end, it is the conservatives who won- so in THIS story, they come out looking very very bad. However, from my short experience in studying Sociology, I can tell you that liberalism has a very strong hold on social sciences in higher education. I digress, however, this story is about children. Children who will hopefully grow up to think for themselves and not how this board decided that they should think. Some of the curriculum changes seem subtle, but it is obvious that the debate centers more on the subliminal message of certain lessons rather than on the substance of it.
