I am tossing the idea of finishing school, and receiving a PhD in Child Development. I was wondering what opportunities were out there besides teaching? Also, what salary range would I be looking at starting out?
I don't want to discourage you but I'm wondering why you'd earn a PhD in anything without some very clear ideas of what might be at the other end. Do you have a Masters? In what subject? Is your primary goal an academic job? Human services? In my experience people think about what they want to do and then ask "How do I get there?" You seem to be saying, "I"m on this road, where does it lead?" Why are you on that road?
