We keep hearing so much about the bad economy that we need to remember there are jobs out there. So, I thought it would be nice to start a thread about places that are hiring or at least accepting resumes and/or applications.

    Here's one:

    www.royalfilter.com

It's not advertised but the company is looking for a production manager and a sales manager. Resumes are being accepted.

What do they do and where are they?

Since my husband has been out of work since May 15, 09 after 30 years with his company I LOVE this thread. He applies for several Jobs a day.

Since I also have 20 and 22 yo sons looking for jobs we know around here lots of companies but up or advertise jobs that are already filled or will never be.

    Thank you for the idea

Okiemom, this seems more like an advertisement. It would have been better to put up the Oklahoma jobs website that this. According to my statistics (and I HATED Stats), this ad applies to 0.00179% of Degree Forum users. I used the same formula the OBama administration used to gauge the number of jobs created per dollar spent, which has a plus/minus ratio of being accurate to within precision quantitative standards set forth within minutae by qualified, certified and excretory authority vested in governmental agencies who have unalienable rights for the express written consent of derivative accounts of and by itself as duly noted by proper jurisdiction.

You gotta be shittin me, right?

An ad? I don't see how having a discussion about jobs is advertising. It's more pleasant to read than hearing about the latest lay-offs. It seems like everytime I pick up the paper or turn on the news, it's more bad news about companies shutting down or letting people go.

There needs to be good news now and then.

Maybe I should have titled this " Where are the jobs, kind type of jobs are they and can anyone afford to live there"

After checking several colleges across the state and several hospitals in the OKC metro area, I know those industries are doing well in the great state of Oklahoma.

The four year universities want Doctorates, the community colleges and two year state colleges will accept a masters degree.

The Department of Human Services is hiring.

I've only found a couple of factories so far but I'll keep looking.

Where are the jobs and do they pay enough to move there?

I am near Clinton, NJ ~ 45 min. from Allentown. The cost of living here is ridiculous. We have both lived in NJ all of our life and we raised 3 children in this house. The economy has hit this area harded then most want to admit. My dh has applied for jobs all over the country and even a few out of the country, we are willing to move just about anywhere, but it wouldn't make sense to move if we won't be better off.

    He was a Process Engineer

He worked for what Used to be BOC and is now Linde. He worked all over the world, managing projects in semiconductor gases, flat panels, and process gas recycle.

He has traveled for years and worked all hours of the day and night for this company. One day he got the Thanks for 30 years LOYAL service and 2 weeks later he was laid off

Actually, I just got hired by the guvment. Scary as hell, huh? Okiemom's post seemed like an ad, you had to dig to get to the crux of the matter. I don't take unemployment lightly. Matter of fact, if for some reason the agency called and said there's a problem w/your hiring, I'd be unemployed.

As for Lindagerr, I'm sure your husband applied to Air Products & Chemicals in Allentown or Rohm & Haas in PA. There are many industrial plants in North Jersey, unfortunately, many have laid off. What about Colonial Pipeline in Southern Jersey? I'm sure he knows what he is doing, his sector has been hit hard in NJ and the surrounding area.

Oklahoma doesn't seem to be hurting for state government employment opportunities. My wife works for DHS and her office just hired another 30+ people.

Goodness, someone tries to do something good, and someone else comes along and gets all 'wet blanket' about it. I've read Okiemom's first post, and I did so several times and haven't seen anywhere where she said that it wasn't an advertisement. The point is, advertisement or not, the ecomony is in recession and people are losing jobs left right and center and any one knows about a job out there would be doing a wonderful thing by telling others about it. Networking! Its encouraged!

There are many openings currently at Teradata where I work. It is a great time to be hiring. A strong great company to work for that is well positioned in the marketplace for success.
