Does anyone know of a place that will make just one custom made patch? Most places require a minimum order of 20-50. It would be a large back jacket patch.

    Thanks,

I think the easiest thing to do will be to google a "machine embroidery forum" and start ask around nicely if anyone would like a little side job for $. You can find a person willing to do this for you 1 on 1.

Machine embroidery is a hobby for some, and a business for some. Those who are into it- are INTO it. I have an embroidery machine (not like the kind you need) so I have visited those types of forums from time to time. Anyway, many of those people are hard core. There is a reader/writer device that is very common for the serious player, it was common 5 years ago- now maybe the word is essential. It connects to your machine and computer via USB port. Once uploaded, the machine automatically sews out the image. A person has to stand there and change out the thread colors as well as watch for machine error- a design that is 3"x3" can take as long as a half hour. A lot of machine embroidery users have these "toys" and share images. A business won't do this for you without charging a fortune because the embroidery business owner struggles to make a profit. Equipment cost and repair is exceptionally high, labor is high, and sales are luke-warm.

Really, you just need to find someone who will let you send your image to her on the computer and then mail the jacket. Making a large patch would be super super expensive. Creating a patches involve using more than one machine (embroidery machine, surger) and multiple fabrics, including a fusing fabric. They also need a hoop template to accommodate the size, large circle cutters, and special strong needles to sew through the patch. You are spending serious money and time doing that- and it's a job for a business not a person. You'll pay a fraction of the cost sewing directly onto the jacket. If the person has a machine that can do it, I know you'll find some nice old lady who would love to earn $50.

    This should work:
    http://xpressmart.com/custom.html

I bought five of a kind here once . . . but I see on the website that they will do just one. Minimum order: $10.

Try the patchsupertore.com for embroidered patches. I'm pretty sure they have no min order quantity. You just end up paying more to just have one done.

    Good Luck
