Perhaps one of the more unusual degrees in the USA is this Associate Science degree in Exotic Animal Training and Management offered by Moorpark Community College in California.

Their catalog states that entry-level positions exist in zoos, oceanariums, animal parks, government facilities, and the entertainment field.
No distance learning option available for this degree.

It's one of the coolest community college programs anywhere. Moorpark College operates its own zoo, with hundreds of animals, complete with lions and tigers and everything!

Reportedly, the program attracts students from all over the United States and internationally, and is kind of famous in its niche. Many of the EATM students already have university degrees when they enroll, moving on up to community college as it were. It isn't required though. It's not open-admisisons and it requires a different application than the rest of Moorpark College. They say:

Apparently EATM graduates are in demand. They say that many employers in the exotic animal business recruit with them and prefer to hire their graduates.

There is a DL connection. They have an articulation agreement with CSU Bakersfield allowing students who graduate from Moorpark's EATM program to complete CSUB's BS in Natural Resources Management by DL while they are working in zoos or animal parks or wherever.
