Okay, that was a cheap trick to get people to read this…but I need suggestions. I am working on my dissertation proposal and focusing on the literature review. My topic is communication satisfaction with remote employees and the relationship to managers meeting the expected frequency of communication. I have a boatload of information on employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction, employee motivation, employee communication, managing remote employees, and neuro-linguistic programming.

I plan to add socio-linguistics and the unique needs of male vs. female and different cultures for communication. Does anyone have any suggested readings for:
The expectations of communication for male vs. female
The expectations of communication for different cultures

Any books, articles, dissertations, or websites with information would be helpful. Thanks.

I searched for the expectations of communication for different cultures in Google Scholar and up came a bunch of references.

I always like to start with UMI Proquest.

While this is on the same line, I have a different twist. Mine will be quantitative and I will include a measure of expected communication / actual communication and examine the relationship between that ratio and scores on the Communication Satisfaction Quesionnaire.

It's going to be interesting to see how you measure that.
