Not exactly DL but why do EMBAs cost so much more? I have read the differences between the MBA and EMBA in other threads but what about the cost? The USF MBA is about $10K and the EMBA is $42K. What is up with that?

The main reason that I have heard is that EMBA programs are aimed at students with corporate sponsorship. Before I could get into the CCMBA program at Duke, I was required to present a letter from my employer stating that they supported me in the program and would pay me for the time I spent attending residencies as if I was at work. It was not required that my employer actually pay my tuition, but for most people (myself included), it was the case that their employer was picking up at least some of the tab. There were also a fair number of "self-sponsored" folks whose employers paid for their time at residencies, but did not cover the tuition at all. Those folks had access to the same career services as regular daytime MBA students, while sponsored folks had to get permission from their employers to use career services.

The students in the higher priced executive MBA programs usually have corporate sponsorship.
